How our modules are created
Our modules are built around a clear didactic concept. Each module:
- Targets at least one specific PEC competence
- Supports at least one cross-curricular competence
- Begins with an economic phenomenon rooted in students’ lived experience
- Translates complexity into teachable learning sequences without oversimplifying
- Encourages multiperspectivity and critical reflection
- Includes student materials, a teacher guide, solutions, references, and curriculum alignment documentation
The methodological foundation
Design-Based Research
Iterative cycles of design, testing, evaluation, and revision in real-world educational contexts. The goal is effective solutions and transferable design principles.
Anderson & Shattuck (2012)
Design Thinking
Users at the center: Observation and empathy generate ideas, ideas become prototypes. The Double Diamond strucutres the path from problem to solution.
Design Council
Lean Startup
Assumptions about learning needs, functions, and impact are tested early on in real-world applications. The Build, Measure, Learn cycle guides the iterations.
Ries (2014)
Our development methodology : The Econec Framework
Econec combines design thinking with a build-measure-learn approach inspired by lean startup methods. This allows us to create resources through cycles of exploration, prototyping, review, and improvement rather than through a purely linear process.
